Rodgers Purnell Green, 64, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017.

Rodgers was a native and lifelong resident of the Gloucester. He was a lifelong waterman, and enjoyed hunting and wood-working. He was always ready to help anyone.

Rodgers is survived by his wife of 12 years, Donna Lisa Green; two sons that he was very proud of, Shawn Green (Kim) of Gloucester, Jamie Green (Jennifer) of Chesterfield; three daughters, Shannon Smith (Travis) and Crystal Knudsen, all of Gloucester, and Misty Wolfe of Florida; eight grandchildren, Justin, Karsyn, Amber Marie, McKenzie, Tyler, Hayden, Carter and Desaray; and very special friends, Kenneth Hogge, William Ellis Hicks, Samantha White, Teresa Hogge and Tabitha.

The family wishes to thank Riverside Hospice of Gloucester for the best care and love anyone could ask for.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 2101 Mark Pine Road, Hayes, Va.
