Rocket Sauce takes 1st in Offseason Challenge

Mathews High School’s FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 1137 finished first in last weekend’s IROC: ILITE Offseason Challenge at Battlefield High School in Haymarket.

Team Rocket Sauce competed against 32 other teams from Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and North Carolina.

Rocket Sauce was chosen in the first round of alliance teams and was able to win the overall competition. The team’s next competition will be at Menchville High School’s Rumble in the Roads in Newport News on Nov. 5. There will be 30+ teams from four states competing at that event. The competition is free and open to the public to view.

The team is looking for new members for its 2017 season which kicks off in January.
