Rocket Sauce gearing up for robotics competition

The 2015 season for the Rocket Sauce robotics team is underway. The Mathews squad is starting the season a little earlier than usual this year to increase its visibility in the community and have the time to build practice and demonstration robots before members begin the FIRST competition season, a release stated.

The team has been meeting every Saturday since the beginning of the school year and this season Rocket Sauce will participate in several competitions.

In early October, the team went to the RUMBLE competition at Menchville High School where it competed against 23 other high school robotics teams.

Rocket Sauce is building two demo robots so that team members can get experience in operating the drive mechanisms. These robots will also be used to demonstrate to the community what they do.
