Arts on Main will hold a rock painting class beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the gallery on Main Street in Gloucester.
Designed for people of all ages, the class is intended to help rock-painting enthusiasts develop and sustain their interest, a release said. It will focus on skills and materials used in this miniature art form. Rocks are decorated using a variety of media and then sealed with a clear coating for preservation.
The class is inspired by the new rock-painting-and-hiding hobby popping up in communities across the country, said the release, as well as by the local Facebook group Gloucester Rocks, which was started by Gloucester resident Tracy Sweat and has over 4,500 members.
The cost is $12 and includes all supplies. For more information, call 804-824-9464, e-mail email@example.com, or register online at www.gloucesterarts.org. ...
