Brian Robinson, recipient of the Mathews NAACP’s Beatrice Bobo Scholarship for the last three years, graduated Saturday from Old Dominion University with a bachelor of science degree in strategic communication. He plans to attend graduate school in the fall.
A 2021 graduate of Mathews High School, Robinson is the son of Phyllis Hunter Robinson of Mathews and James A. Robinson of El Paso, Texas.
“The NAACP Mathews Branch is proud of Brian and honored to have played a small role in his success. We wish him all good fortune as he pursues his graduate degree,” said Edith Turner, President of the NAACP Mathews Branch. “He is a credit to our community and to Mathews High, and we expect he will continue to accomplish his goals.”
The NAACP Mathews Branch #7090 established the Beatrice Bobo Scholarship in honor of the late Mrs. Bobo who was a longtime president of the Mathews Branch and a beloved teacher in Mathews County Public Schools. The scholarship is awarded annually. For more information...
