Robert Worthington Johnson Jr., 84, passed away on Feb. 7, 2026 at Dogwood Village in Orange, Va.

He had worked for the Northern Virginia Park Service, City of Norfolk Parks, Greenbrier Farms, as well as VDOT in Suffolk, Va. He was also a member of the Army Reserve, an honorary member of the Gloucester Garden Club, member of the Portsmouth Assembly, member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Portsmouth and Ware Episcopal Church, Gloucester. He had a degree in horticulture from Virginia Tech.

Survivors include his daughters, Susan J. Estes and Clare J. Kincaid; a brother, Reese Johnson, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jean Johnson; father, Robert W. Johnson; mother, Phyllis Johnson, and brother, Thomas Johnson.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at Ware Episcopal Church. Light refreshments with the family will follow the service.
