Robert Winfield Klink Sr., 81, of Gloucester, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 5, 2025. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia, and was the son of the late Herbert R. and Cordonna Hodgin Klink. He was a member of Singleton United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force where he was the commander of Taipei, Taiwan; and the commander of the 647 Field Hospital in the Philippines. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke where he was president of the student body; graduate of VMI, class of 1967; and medical school and residency at MCV (OB-GYN). He opened his practice in Gloucester in 1980. He served as a State Representative of the Southern Medical Association and on several medical boards for the state. His hobbies included flying small planes, golf, traveling, boating, and playing the piano.
He is survived by his wife, June Sutton Klink; sons, Rob Jr. (Julie) and Jason; grandchildren, Caroline and Hudson Klink, and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Singleton United Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Singleton United Methodist Church. The family would like to give special thanks to Riverside Walter Reed Hospice and to Ties that Bind.
