Robert T. Martin, 79, of Mathews County, formerly of Chesterfield, passed away at his home on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elizabeth Martin.

Robert was retired from the Defense Supply Center, Richmond, Virginia.

He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Harwell (Jerry) of Chester; his brother, James Martin (Dale) of Cobbs Creek; two nephews; two nieces, six great-nephews and four great-nieces, and a devoted friend, Sig Langschultz.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Kingston Parish, 370 Main Street, Mathews. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mathews Vol. Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 723, Mathews, Virginia 23109.
