Robert T. “Bobby” Respess, 82, of Mathews died on Sept. 19, 2017. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Nina Respess, and sister, Hilda Stoudt. He is survived by his children, Nina Gresham and her husband Bill, Robert Respess Jr. and his wife Tracy, Gin Evans and her husband Chris, and Len Sears and her husband Scott; grandchildren, Christina, Dylan, Katherine, Caroline, Coleman, Ethan and Landry, as well as great-grandchildren, 

McKenzie, Jordan and Anthony. He is also survived by his sister, Audrey Faulkner, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. 

He called Twin Springs Farm his home and worked tirelessly doing what he loved, farming, until he was no longer able. He was lovingly cared for by the staff at Riverside Mathews Convalescent Center, as well as Muriel Blacken. 

The family received friends at Faulkner Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Va., on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. A funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, also at the funeral home, followed by burial at Trinity Cemetery, Foster, Va.
