Robert Nelson “Bobby” Wright, 84, of Hayes, died March 9, 2018 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

He graduated from Newport News High School in 1952. Bobby worked at the Daily Press from 1951 to 1955, and retired from Peninsula Produce/Saville Produce, Newport News. Bobby was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and UVA basketball.

He was preceded in death in 2007 by his loving wife of 49 years, Jewell Rae Wright. 

He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Covington and husband Chuck, and daughter, Lori Nice; beloved grandchildren, Lindsay Creekmur (Adam), Katie Williams (Evan), Carlyn Covington (Jacob Adams) and Tyler Nice; great-grandchildren, Will, Raegan “Sweetheart,” Cullen and Charlie.

The family received friends Sunday, March 11, 2018, from 3-5 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Services were private.
