Robert H. Lewis of Bena, Va., died on Jan. 1, 2016.

Born in Winchester, Va., he lived most of his adult life in Newport News, Yorktown, and Gloucester where he lived for 22 years at Cottonwood. He retired as a Director of Nuclear Engineering at Newport News Shipbuilding in 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy P. Lewis, and granddaughter, Shelton A. Piland, both of Bena; his daughter, Jennifer L. Ryal, and son-in-law, James P. Ryal, granddaughter, Perrin E. Ryal, grandson, Jack Ryal, all of Havertown, Pa.; his son, Robert M. Lewis, daughter-in-law, Brandi M. Lewis, grandson, Cole Lewis, granddaughter, Kendall L. Lewis, all of Midlothian, Va.; his stepson, R. Stanley Piland III and daughter-in-law, Christine W. Piland, both of Annapolis, Md.; stepdaughter, Laurel S. Piland of Bradenton, Fla.; his sister, Barbara L. MacLellan of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Mr. Lewis is greatly missed by his family.
