ROBERT GRAHAM GAYLE

Robert Graham Gayle of Bohannon, born Aug. 20, 1941, was escorted by the angels to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 10, 2020. He won victory over a 53-year battle with MS. Graham lived a life of peace and trust in God. During his illness he never complained or asked, “Why me?”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Captain Robert and Carrie Lee Gayle.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 59 years, Joanne; son, David (Karen); daughter, Jody (Amy); sister, Beverley, and six awesome grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, Emily, Tyler, Ashley and Noah.

Graham retired from the Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown, in 1975. He loved farming and farmed Galewood Farm as long as he could. He also loved hunting, fishing, waterskiing and camping. He was a founding member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church in 1984. His testimony of courage and faith touched many lives as he faced a serious illness. He was always “fine” and had a smile on his face to the end.

A special thank you to his Hospice nurses, Brenda Scales, Angela Overstreet, Gina Rowe and Lydia Foster. Their compassion and nursing skills were beyond description. They were four angels sent by God in our hour of need. Thank you also to his dedicated doctors, Bob Davis, Joe Leming and Lockhart. They made his journey possible.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service date will be set at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Cornerstone Fellowship Church, 2243 Buckley Hall Road, Cobbs Creek, Va. 23035.
