Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, brother, and friend, Robert Daniel Looman, of North, Virginia, passed away on July 28, 2025. He was born February 10, 1945, to Francis and Alta Looman in Herkimer, New York. Bob loved sailing, fishing and had an amazing sense of humor. He was an early purveyor of Dad Jokes. He and his family lived in numerous places throughout the United States before settling in North, Virginia in 2005, acquiring many life-long friends along the way.

Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda; his children, Matthew (Amy), Jason (Tara), and Kristen (Bernard); his five grandchildren, Alex, Dorothy, Emmett, Liam, and Kristopher; brothers, Carl Looman, and Benjamin Looman of Texas, and Paul (Bonnie) Looman of New York, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Alta Looman; brothers, David and Floyd Looman; sisters, Marie Lasher and Lillian Looman.

Memorial services were held at the Singleton United Methodist Church, Ware Neck, Va., on Tuesday, August 5, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Fort Plain, New York, August 30 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
