Robert C. Johnson passed away May 16, 2013 at the Riverside Convalescent Center in Mathews.

Robert was born June 19, 1924 in Monmouth, Ill., the son of Katherine Noonan Johnson and Henry G. Johnson.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific.

He was employed in Chicago for many years before retiring to Port Haywood. He was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his sister, Mary Louise Johnson Kulesza, and his niece, Nancy Kulesza.

A funeral mass was celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church in Mathews on May 20, 2013, and burial was at the Church of the Visitation.
