Robert Beale George, 88, of Gloucester, Va., passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at his home.

He was born in Fairpoint, Va., to the late Ira and Nettie Jones George. He retired from Baltimore Gas and Light after 42 years of service and served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Harriett George; his sons, Robert George and his wife Sharon, and Steve George and his wife Jenny; his grandchildren, Robert Thomas George, Jennifer George, and Logan George; his brothers, Cullen George and Donald George, and his sister, Kay Greenlee.

A memorial service was held on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church in Gloucester.
