Roahrig named Market Days chair

Jennifer Roahrig has been named chairman of the 2024 Mathews Market Days Committee. She succeeds Megan Evgen, who was last year’s chair.

A Tidewater native who was born and raised in Gloucester, Roahrig has served on the Mathews Market Days Committee for the past two years. After an 11-year career with the federal Department of Defense, she became a stay-at-home mom and military spouse. She and her husband Alexander purchased their home in Mathews County in 2019, and currently reside there with their five children.

Roarhig said she has many passions in life, but the two that stand out most are children and animals. She said she is “ecstatic to be chairperson” this year because 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of Mathews Market Days.

“This is the beginning of many amazing things,” said Roahrig. “We promise this to be the best Mathews Market Days to date.”
