Roadside cleanup in Gloucester on Saturday

A fall roadside cleanup will be held in Gloucester from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday.

Clean Community Coordinator Rene Moring said individuals and groups are encouraged to participate. Among groups that have already signed up are the Church of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) and Providence Baptist Church.

“We want to show a beautiful county to the visitors that come to visit Gloucester as the colors of the season arrive,” said Ralph “Buzz” Perkins, chairman of the county’s Clean Community Committee.

Suggestions for locations needing litter pickup will be available, but participants may also clean areas of their own choosing, Moring said. Groups and individuals may collect cleanup supplies on Saturday in the parking lot of Gloucester County Office Building #1. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1.
