Riverside to hold free flu vaccine clinic next month at RWRH

Riverside Health System will hold a free flu vaccination clinic next month in Gloucester.

The drive-thru clinic, for patients ages 9 and older, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. The clinic is one of several scheduled for October and November throughout Riverside’s service area.

“Flu season is right around the corner, and getting your flu shot is an easy and effective way to protect yourself and others,” said Dr. Tom Kayrouz, Riverside’s chief clinical operations officer. “Typically, it takes your body two to four weeks to develop an immune response from the vaccination, so the sooner you can get the flu vaccine before flu season begins, the better.”

“Riverside has offered free flu vaccination clinics for more than eight years,” said Sally Ryan, vice president and chief operating officer of Riverside Medical Group.
