Riverside recognized for its use of information technology

Riverside Health System has been recognized for the 12th consecutive year as one of America’s Most Wired health care systems.

According to a survey, technology is improving the efficiency of care delivery and creating a new dynamic in patient interactions. These Most Wired hospitals are using telehealth to fill gaps in care, provide services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and expand access to medical specialists, a release said.

Riverside Walter Reed Hospital and the Sanders Retirement complex in Gloucester and convalescent centers in Mathews and Saluda are part of Riverside Health System. The annual Most Wired survey is designed to measure the level of information technology adoption in U.S. hospitals and health systems, and serve as a tool for hospital and health system leadership to map their IT strategic plans.
