Riverball IX to benefit Put-In Creek Park

Riverball IX will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, at the White Dog Bistro, Church Street, Mathews.

Hosted by the Mathews Main Street Committee, the gala will be an opportunity to relive the golden era of Saturday nights in downtown, when the streets thronged with people who celebrated the good life in Mathews, said Main Street Committee chair Bette Dillehay. The event will include food and music, with vintage slot machines and vehicles on display.

Put-In Creek Park is the target for funds raised through this year’s Riverball, a shift from the previous goals of the committee in fundraising, said Dillehay. Located across from the southwest corner of the Court Green, the park sports a recently completed launch for kayaks and canoes and is being developed as an inviting, pleasant spot where residents, visitors and boaters can access the water or dock for shopping and dining.
