Rivera earns citations for cobia, red drum catches

Timothy Rivera of Gloucester has earned two citations in the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament for catches recorded on Aug. 10.

Rivera caught a 63-pound, 8-ounce cobia in York Channel, and caught and released a 53-inch red drum at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel for his citations, according to the Sept. 9 issue of vasaltwaterjournal.com.

Other citations registered recently with the tournament include the following:

Dakotah Skye Mayo of Gloucester, 47-inch red drum caught Aug. 13 at the CBBT;

Jeff Parrish of Gloucester, a sailfish caught and released Aug. 28 at Norfolk Canyon;

Christopher E. Carr of Gloucester, 10-pound, 14-ounce sheepshead caught Aug. 23 in Chesapeake Bay;

Steven D. Callis of Cobbs Creek, white marlin caught and released Sept. 4 at Norfolk Canyon, and

William Hudgins of Gloucester, white marlin caught and released Sept. 3 at Norfolk Canyon.
