Jennifer Worthen will be the speaker at the next meeting of the River County Quilters at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Abingdon Episcopal Church, White Marsh.

She is the owner of Slightly Biased Quilts, established in 2020. She used to have a bias tape Etsy shop, but recently started designing quilt patterns, which can be found at www.slightlybiasedquilts.com.

She is a member of the D.C. Modern Quilt Guild, and has a Ph.D. in Computational Science, Engineering and Mathematics. She enjoys quilt math and putting together patterns that are both fun and easy to assemble. The fabrics and color palettes she chooses helps bring a modern twist to typically traditional quilt blocks. She recently started designing quilts for magazines, and also teaches quilt classes and lectures.
