Rivenbark named COO of Three Rivers Health District

Brenden Rivenbark of Urbanna has been named chief operating officer of the Three Rivers Health District, a newly created position whose duties include providing day-to-day management and leadership over most non-clinical district operations.

Rivenbark said he will be overseeing the operations of several district divisions and positions, including epidemiology, population health, business, emergency preparedness and environmental health. Each of those areas has its own manager, said Rivenbark, describing the health district as “a well-oiled machine” that just needed continuity of leadership to help facilitate the big picture, or “the broad strokes of what we do.”

Formerly a senior policy analyst in the offices of Virginia Health Commissioner Norman D. Oliver, MD, Rivenbark said his journey in policy work led him to embrace the idea that long-term policy impacts are driven by the decisions and collaborations that come about at the local level.
