Rita Hudgins Revere, age 78, of Mathews, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Hudgins, and had retired in 1999 after serving 30 years as a teacher’s aide in the Mathews County School System. Rita enjoyed cooking and will always be remembered for her lemon pies and the love she had for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Elwood and Beryl Presson Hudgins; grandmother, Lilly Presson, and one sister, Nancy Broaddus.

She is survived by her husband, Paul T. Revere; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Lisa Revere; one grandson, Brad T. Revere, all of Mathews; two sisters, Gloria Haywood of Mathews, and Lola D. Hambleton of Colorado; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Joyce Hudgins of Mathews.

The family received friends Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, 6-9 p.m. in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Church of the Nazarene, Hudgins. Entombment followed in Friendship Cemetery, Susan.
