RILL to offer flower arranging course

Rappahannock Community College’s Rappahannock Institute of Lifelong Learning is offering a class on flower arrangement in wintertime.

“Curing the Winter Blahs: Creating Arrangements Using Tropicals and House Plants” will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 1-3 p.m. at RCC’s Warsaw campus.

This hands-on class will focus on arrangements created from the leaves of beautiful tropicals and house plants. After an hour of instruction and an hour of hands-on arranging, participants will leave class with a professional arrangement and the confidence to create floral displays on their own.

Instructor Laura Anne Brooks is a floral designer in English and French schools as well as New Creative Design and Modern European design. Brooks has taught at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond and lectures for many garden clubs and botanical groups. Her work is frequently seen at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
