Right at Home

Right at Home, a Kilmarnock business established in 2016 by Katherine Keith, provides senior citizens with personal care, cooking, light cleaning, and independent living activities.

Keith said her company’s mission is to improve the quality of life for seniors who have chosen to “age in place.” But there have been some challenges. After losing her elderly but still active parents in 2019 in a car accident, she was subsequently diagnosed with cancer for the second time. Those difficult experiences, she said, “added an even greater sense of mission to what we do.”

“My staff is extraordinary, so somehow we made it through that year,” she said. “And, of course, we have all struggled to adapt to COVID, but we provided personal protective equipment and followed all CDC guidelines and have been able to keep our clients safe.”

With all clients and caregivers now, fortunately, vaccinated against the virus, Keith said that “we are getting back to a new ‘normal.’”
