The Virginia Museum of History and Culture (428 N. Arthur Ashe Boulevard, Richmond) will host the launch of “We the People: The World in Our Commonwealth” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27. It is a book based on the current America at 250 exhibits and programs at the museum. Other upcoming events include: Hispanic Heritage Maker’s Market, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 4 and 5, local vendors and music, after hours Friday, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday; Virginia Distilled, 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, sampling spirits from companies across the state, with discussions, food trucks, music and gallery access, tickets required. The museum also reminded the public that it holds several objects related to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, 25 years ago.
