Richard Smith Davey, 93, of Gloucester, died June 6, 2014 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.
One of his proudest achievements included a 30-year career with NASA as an engineer. He was a kind and compassionate man who cared very much for his family, loved challenges, big band music, dancing and Dixie Land. Mr. Davey would want everyone to “live for today” as he did. Although he is no longer with us, he will not be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Christine Smith Davey; two wives, Eleanor Davey and Alice Davey, and his son, Don Richard Davey.
He is survived by his son, Robert Davey and wife Frances; grandchildren, John and Patrick Davey, and an extended family.
A graveside service conducted by the Rev. Connie Jones will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery, Yorktown. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
Arrangements by Hogg Funeral Home and Crematory, Gloucester Point.
