RICHARD ROSARIO PAULINO

Richard Rosario Paulino, 57, of Gloucester, entered his Eternal Heavenly home Jan. 9, 2013.

Rick served in the U.S. Army and was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Army Service Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, and Overseas Service Ribbon. He also received the Kuwait Liberation Medal and the Army Gold Recruiter Badge with three Sapphire Achievement Stars and numerous other medals.

Rick was extremely kind, softly spoken, and befriended everyone. He enjoyed traveling, especially to West Virginia, good food and good conversation with family and friends. His generosity, compassion, positive attitude, humor and humility made him a role model to all.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Joe Paulino, and brother, Johnny Paulino.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Brian Paulino and wife Samantha, Katrina Kilmartin and husband Matt, and James Lee Hall and wife Amy; mother, Elizabeth Paulino; sister, Betty Paulino; and brothers, Fred, Alvin, Frank and Joseph Paulino; six grandchildren; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Healy and Shirley Kellum, and Chris Jenkins who was like a son to Rick.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart and the Rev. Dr. Rodney Autry were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Union Baptist Church. Interment with military honors followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
