Richard Otis Dickerson Sr. (Dick), 77, of Gloucester, passed away in his home after bravely fighting cancer for nearly six years, on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Shelby of 57 years; his incredible children, Cindy Ruehrmund (John) and Ricky Dickerson Jr.; his beloved grandchildren, Brandi Jones (Wesley) and Kenny Martin, and the light of his life, his great-grandchildren, Brayden, Juliana, and Richie. Shelby and family want to extend a special thank you to Richard’s extraordinary medical team, NP Shannon Burris, Dr. Bruce Booth, and his sweet Olivia. Thank you for giving Richard five+ years of quality time. We would also like to thank our miracle man, Dr. Joseph Lombard, whose magical dental skills are only matched by his compassion for his many patients.
Services were held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Reedswood Christian Church in Gloucester. Visitation was at 6 p.m. with the service at 7.
