RICHARD GERALD GUMAER JR.

A memorial service for Richard “Rich” Gerald Gumaer Jr., 47, of Gloucester, was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. He died Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

Mr. Gumaer was born in Port Jervis, N.Y., and grew up in New York and Virginia. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Warwick Moose Lodge #1711.

Survivors include his mother, Nita Taylor and husband Bernard of Newport News; father, Richard G. Gumaer Sr. and wife Lynette of Rio, N.Y.; daughters, Kymberly Gumaer of Pittston, Pa., and Kate Matlen of Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Michelle Harris, Carolyn Motley, Susan Shorts, Theresa Berry, Heather Teller of Gloucester, and Colleen Cortright of Port Jervis; brother, Sgt. 1st Class William E. Gumaer of Seattle, Wash., and two grandchildren.

Inurnment was private.
