Richard “Dickie” Glenn Poland, age 91, of Gloucester Point, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. Dickie was one of the family owners of Poland’s Supermarket at Gloucester Point. Dickie was an avid sportsman and played center on the basketball team at Gloucester High School. If there was a golf game on TV, he was watching. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and Williamsburg Country Club. Wife, Laura R. Poland, parents, John and Mae Ashe Poland, and brothers, Norman and Jack Poland, preceded him in death. Dickie is survived by his son, Tim Poland; daughter, Sheila Tinker (Larry), and granddaughter, Brittany Tinker. The family received friends at Bethany United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 11-11:45 a.m. Funeral service conducted by the Rev. John Choi was held at noon, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
