Richard B. “Mickey” Shifflett of Gloucester, born on April 30, 1943, went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2018.

Mickey was married to his loving wife of 56 years, Carol Shifflett. His career as an electrician spanned more than 55 years. Mickey was a hardworking man that enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, and telling stories of long ago.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse A. and Nellie L. Shifflett; his siblings, Melvin, Jesse Jr., and Shirley, and his son, Richard Todd Shifflett.

Mickey is survived by his wife Carol; his sons, Robert (Kathy), Ricky (Tammy), Jeffery (Marilyn), and daughter, Lorrie; 10 grandchildren, Chad, Shawntae, Tonya, Richard, Melissa, Nicole, Rachel, Rebecca, Krystal, and Jeremy; nine great-grandchildren, Makayla, Alan, Natalynn, Cadence, Josiah, Isaiah, Liam, Nathaniel, and Aleck.

A funeral was held on April 16, 2018 at McKee Funeral Home in Augusta, West Virginia. He was laid to rest at Kessel Cemetery in Moorefield, West Virginia.

A memorial service to receive family and friends will be held at Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Mathews, on April 21, 2018 at 2 p.m.
