Revolutionary War encampment

The 7th Virginia Regiment of the Continental Line, a Revolutionary War reenactment group, held an encampment over the weekend on the grounds of the Gloucester Museum of History on Main Street. The regiment gave demonstrations and provided a wealth of information to those who stopped by and observed their activities. Here, under the direction of instructor Sam Nuckolls (not pictured), local children learn the proper procedures for firing a cannon. Participants are, from left, Trinity Airis, Mari Powers, Cain Walls, Ladlynn Thomas (hidden behind Walls), and Zelena Jones. In the background, from left, are regiment members Mary Mansourmoiad, Todd Heindselman, Kimball Thompson, David Williams, Jim Gallagher (seated) and Alex Heindselman.
