Doris E. Wilson-Baker, 69, of Woods Cross Roads, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Born in Gloucester, Virginia, to Dorothy L. Wilson and the late Walter F. Wilson, Doris was mother to Terrance and Christina and grandmother to Darius, Blaze, André, Z’nyah and Malachi. Mourned by countless family members and friends, Doris was an ordained minister, with a Ph.D. in Theology, an accomplished baker and caterer, as well as a prolific and published writer of poetry.

A graduate of Gloucester High School and Norfolk State University, Doris obtained a degree in the field of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Kinesiotherapy. She was a retired DoD employee (Director of Tourist and Travel, Schwäbisch Hall, Germany, and Fort Eustis, Va., Director of Youth Services, Fort Eustis), and a Theology Instructor and Registrar, International College of Bible Theology, Gloucester.

Devout in her faith, Doris attended Antioch Baptist Church and returned to Morning Glory Baptist Church in her final years.

No funeral but memorial service will be held on date to be determined after the pandemic restrictions are lifted.
