WILLIAM ‘LEROY’ DAVIS JR.

William “Leroy” Davis Jr., age 65, of Gloucester, Virginia, left for his heavenly home on Jan. 15, 2023, with his devoted wife by his side. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Elizabeth “Robin” Davis; his daughter, Kristie Dalton Milby; his son, Gaston F. Dalton III, “Rocky” (Brittney); his grandchildren, Jason Anderson, Kameron Milby, Kristian Dalton, Aeriana Dalton, Rylee Dalton, and Ryder Dalton, and his great-grandson, Kai Joseph Trom, whom he affectionately called “Poncho.” Also, his mother, Marie Bonniville; daughter-in-love, Doreen “Tweed” Anderson; seven siblings, and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, George “Joey” Anderson, and his father, William Davis.

Leroy was a dedicated servant of the Lord and spent over 20 years serving as an evangelist at Walter Reed Convalescent Center. He was a “jack of all trades,” and worked as a waterman, owned his own restaurant, pastored his own church, and sold seafood. He also worked as a maintenance man and greeter at Walmart for 14 years spreading his good will and cheer to everyone who entered.

Leroy loved spending time fishing, playing his guitar, hosting meals at his home, and spending time with his family and friends. If you knew Leroy, you knew he never met a stranger and never shied away from sharing his love of Jesus. He had a heart to pray, a heart to witness, a heart to share, and a heart to serve. He always made sure his family knew they were important and loved by him. A kind man with the biggest heart that we will all miss very much.

A Celebration of Life will be held at New Life Ministry Center located at 3450 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes, Virginia, on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at 2 p.m.
