Retirement spot provides time and space for cooking

“I like cooking and creating new methods of preparation to make people happy,” expressed Capt. Barry Napp. “I’m not used to cooking seafood but am experimenting with it.”

Barry and his wife Brenda bought their home at North in 2018. “We were moving from Texas and it took us awhile to get in. We made the move to Virginia because Brenda is from Middlesex and she wanted to be near her family.”

Barry’s first cooking experience was as a short order cook at a steak restaurant in his home state of North Carolina. He then enlisted in the Army and rose to staff sergeant. “I then decided to get my commission and at that point I became a member of the artillery division, and was in two wars, always working in public affairs. Retired in 1993.” But not for long,
