Retirement approved for eight school employees

The Gloucester County School Board approved retirement for eight employees during its April 9 meeting.

Retiring at the end of the school year are Response to Intervention coordinator Evelyn Perhac, Botetourt Elementary assistant principal Nancy Spicer, Botetourt hearing impaired teacher Marcia Thomas, Bethel Elementary occupational therapist Ruth Morrison, Peasley Middle School teacher Patricia Reffo, and Gloucester High School teacher James Newton.

 

Also retiring are speech pathologist Ramona Odom, effective Aug. 1, and support services employee Harold Jarvis Sr., effective June 1.

In addition, the board accepted resignations from Botetourt teacher Haley Poulson and Abingdon Elementary teacher Diana Brock, both effective at the end of the school year. The board also appointed Noelle Staufenberger of Williamsburg as a school psychologist intern.
