In June 2025, Richardson’s Café in Mathews changed hands. Christopher and Amy Williams are the new owners, and it’s Amy you see attending to daily operations and doing some cooking, especially desserts. Christopher fills in where needed after arriving home from his Naval Weapons Station daily job. “He is my everything,” Amy quickly adds. Amy is not new to the restaurant business. She has been active in her profession for many years, learning what makes a restaurant, work from the kitchen to behind the counter to table service to movement to clean up. “I first worked at Goodfellas on Route 17 serving as manager and waiting on tables,” Amy explained. After three years she moved on to Ruby Tuesday for five years. “It was here that Lynne and Joe Davenport (former owners of Richardson’s Cafe) often visited.” Then 16 years ago Amy made a good move, joining the staff at Richardson’s.
