Restaurant rezoning request meets with planners’ approval

No one spoke out against the proposed rezoning of a parcel for business use on Main Street during a public hearing at the Gloucester County Planning Commission meeting Thursday night in the colonial courthouse.

After brief deliberation, the commission recommended that the matter be forwarded to the Gloucester Board of Supervisors with its recommendation of approval. The supervisors will schedule a separate hearing.

Patrick O’Carroll, representing 7313 Main Street, LLC, property owner, applied to reclassify approximately 1.8 acres where Patriots Grill is located so that restaurant can add seats to accommodate more diners.

Following last Thursday’s meeting, O’Carroll said he plans to enclose a portion of the restaurant’s deck that will add 40 or more seats. A portion of the deck will remain as it is now, he said.
