Residents invited to take part in Court House ‘visioning’session

A "Vision Forum" will be held from 6:45-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Main Street Center Preservation Trust office in Main Street Center to allow the public to tell officials what they value in the Court House area and would like to see preserved.

The forum is part of a joint initiative between MSPT and Gloucester County.

The Gloucester Board of Supervisors has appointed a citizen steering committee to prepare a draft plan for review and adoption by the county. Planner Emily Gibson said the committee has met twice, with more meetings slated in the months ahead.

"In order to be prepared for future growth and development, it is important that we have a sound and effective land use plan for the historic village and its surrounding area," planning director Anne Ducey-Ortiz said. She said officials want a plan that "reflects the needs and desires of our community."
