Residents appointed to state boards

Several local and area residents were among those appointed this week to various state boards and commissions, Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced Monday.

Ken Risser of Hartfield, owner of Risser Farms and Sales Consultant for VAL-CO, was appointed to the Virginia Egg Board, while Michael Congrove of Gwynn, owner of Oyster Seed Holdings, and James R. Sowers III of Mathews, owner of Chapel Creek Oyster Company, were appointed to the Virginia Marine Products Board.

Youngkin said the work of the boards and commissions “will move our commonwealth into the future and help create a best-in-class government.”
