The Middlesex County Republican Committee’s dessert and coffee fundraising event scheduled for Saturday at the Middlesex Shooting Sports Club has been canceled after two of the three candidates scheduled to take part indicated they would not be able to attend, according to MCRC chair Gail Mitchell.

MCRC was notified Friday by both Hung Cao’s and Eddie Garcia’s campaign staff that even though they had previously committed to the event they would not be able to attend due to unforeseen circumstance, Mitchell said. Both campaign staffs apologized for this inconvenience.

Ticket holders will be refunded their money along with their fee. “We are working out the logistics on how that will transpire,” Mitchell said.

“Those that paid by check and cash will be refunded as well. Please be patient as we work this out.”
