Organizers of Saturday’s opening day ceremony for Mathews County Little League paid tribute to Jordan Hale Stewart, a seventh grader at Thomas Hunter Middle School who died in a tragic hunting accident last November. Jordan participated in Mathews Little League from T-ball through the minor leagues and in the Stars of Tomorrow tournament as a pitcher and outfielder.
