Regatta planned at Mobjack

The Annual Regatta of the Mobjack Bay Yacht Club will be held at Mobjack on Sept. 4 at 12. The members of the club are requested to meet at 10 a.m. to discuss some matters relative to the races. A dance will be given immediately following the races and a delightful time is anticipated. This is our own yacht club and should be well attended by the people of Mathews, both sportsmen and others.

A pleasant launch ride to the Court House from Mobjack was given in honor of Miss Wood, of Norfolk, by Mr. Albert Miles last week.

The Sunday School picnic given at Capt. Walter Davis’s by Westville Baptist Church was quite a success. There was a large crowd and plenty of everything good to eat, with ice cream, cake and lemonade in abundance.
