The Gloucester Ruritan Club held its August meeting at Beaverdam Park. Joining them were members of Girl Scout Troop 1055. Troop members talked about some of the ways they help the county, such as picking up trash, helping at voting polls, and directing traffic at community events. Jade Hawkins was recognized for being a top seller of the famous Girl Scout cookies last year. At the close of the presentation, Ruritan Club president Lou Serio (right photo) presented Jennie Hawkins with a $100 check from the club. The Scouts closed out the meeting by performing “Taps.”
