MRS.CHRISTIE’S CHOCOLATE CHESS PIE
(In memory of Christie E. Taylor)
½ stick butter
3 Tbs. cocoa
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1½ c. sugar
2 eggs
5 oz. evaporated milk
1 regular prepared pie crust (I prefer to make my own)
In a blender add all wet ingredients then all the dry. Mix well. Pour mix into the pie crust. Bake 325°F. for 45 minutes.
*Triple recipe to make 2 deep dish pies, but mix each recipe, as only one will fit in blender at a time. ORANGE CRUSH POUND CAKE
1 c. shortening
1 stick butter
2¾ c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. plain flour
1 c. Orange Crush soda
1 tsp. orange flavoring
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Icing
3 oz. soft cream cheese
½ stick butter
1 c. confectioners’ sugar
¾ tsp. orange flavoring
½ tsp. vanilla extract
