Reception tonight for Wolfgang Vogelbein

The Middle Peninsula Fine Arts Association will welcome photographer Wolfgang Vogelbein tonight at Arts on Main in Gloucester.

Vogelbein retired earlier this year from the Department of Aquatic Health Sciences at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, and is now faculty emeritus. He has investigated the importance of a new bacterial disease with the aim of understanding the impacts on Chesapeake Bay bass and human health.

Vogelbein will discuss the many photographs he has taken in regard to aquatic disease, fish pathology, and the relationship between chemical exposure and fish cancers. The reception begins at 6:15 p.m.; dinner is served at 7 o’clock at $20 a person, guests $21. The program begins at 8.
