The RAL Arts Center will have a reception for the “Moments in Time” exhibit by visiting artist Catherine Hillis and the “From the Garden” exhibit from 5–7 p.m. Friday at 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.
Hillis was recently awarded third place in the PleinAir Salon Competition sponsored by Plein Air Magazine. She said about her art, “My paintings can be described as traditional landscapes, still lifes and figures, but I try to use my unique perspective to draw the viewer into the world as I see it, incorporating humor or beauty when possible in unexpected places.”
“From the Garden” will feature works of art in 2 and 3 dimensional forms of flowers, vegetables, bugs, birds, leaves, twigs, trees and pollen. The exhibits will be on display through April 27.
