Rebecca May Carlton Rilee, 92, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully in the early hours of July 1, 2025 at Three Rivers Health and Rehabilitation West Point, Va. She was born the oldest of four children to the late Blanche Ashley and Wilford M. Carlton on May 12, 1933 in King & Queen County, Va.
Rebecca was a homemaker and volunteer at Gloucester schools. She was a longtime member of Petsworth Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lewis Rilee; two sisters, Grace Lawson and Dorothy Lawson. Bay, as she was affectionally known by her close family, is survived by her son, David Rilee and his fiancée Cathy; brother, Ronald Carlton; grandchildren, Rachel Lea, Lucas David and Richard Sidney; six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Rebecca’s love of children.
Family and friends will gather for a graveside service conducted by Pastor Mike Edwards on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Petsworth Baptist Church Cemetery.
